Cardiomyopathy is a general term for diseases of the heart muscle, where the walls of the heart chambers have become stretched, thickened or stiff. This affects the heart's ability to pump blood around the body. My dad was diagnosed with this condition over 20 years ago, and it affects him everyday. It also stopped him doing the 2 things he loved most, running and judo. He also has a defibrillator to restart his heart, which has saved his life a couple of times.

Since his diagnosis me and my brother need yearly check ups to check our hearts condition. This money shall go towards improving research of the condition and the tests which are used.
