Help raise funds for a new sensory playroom on Beadnell Mother and Baby Unit.

Story

On tuesday, we said goodbye to Naomi, who sadly took her own life after a long and difficult battle with her mental health. In spite of trying every possible way to access the help and support available.

Naomi had a chosen charity: Morpeth Mother and Baby Unit where she spent a long time with her son River.

The aim is to raise money towards building a new sensory room for mothers and children struggling with postnatal depression.

I have decided to take on the Yorkshire Marathon in fancy dress on 18th October. I haven't done any marathon training yet and never done one before, so getting myself marathon ready in the time is going to be a challenge.

Any donation size is appreciated. Every donation will help support mothers and children who are going through some of the darkest and most difficult times of their lives.

Beadnell Mother and Baby Unit at St. George's Park is a specialist regional facility for women experiencing mental health difficulties in the antenatal or postnatal period. The ward provides specialist treatment for a range of disorders and offers a wide range of interventions to promote recovery.

The team are looking to develop a sensory playroom for mother, babies and their families to use during their admission. We hope that the new sensory room will offer a safe and relaxing space, to help promote a feeling of comfort, containment and stress regulation. We would like the room to have sensory lights, equipment to play soothing music, different sensory equipment, comfortable seating and aroma diffusers.

Help the team reach their goal by making a donation today. Each and every donation is greatly appreciated.
