Story
Dear Family and Friends,
Myself and 18 others will be running the London Parks Half Marathon on the 8th of October to raise much needed funds for The Uganda School Project (TUSP), a charity doing vital work towards improving primary education in rural Uganda.
TUSP, founded in 2016 by Sean Richardson, a friend from Leeds University, supports educational development in Uganda. The last few years have been difficult - schools have been closed for long periods and donations across the charity sector have taken a hit. That’s why we need your help more than ever.
Our goal is to raise enough money to BUILD A NEW PRIMARY SCHOOL IN UGANDA - 8 classrooms, 5 latrines, access to drinking water, teacher training and a daily school lunch.
Now as you all know, I am not a runner. HOWEVER this is an incredibly worthy cause to lace up my running shoes and take on 13.2 miles, a distance I’ve never attempted / come close to in my life, with the rest of the team. It’s a big effort from us, but nothing on the undertaking of Sean and the rest of the team in Uganda.
Thank you for taking the time to read this; any donation is gratefully received and will go a long way for the cause. It will encourage me, yet most importantly, allow for children in Uganda to attend school and provide them with a guaranteed source of food and water on a daily basis. Tom
