Story
Every step is for Mum, every penny for Nightingale House.💜
In February this year, my wonderful mum sadly passed away at just 66 years old. She was a breast cancer nurse who spent her life caring for others with kindness, compassion, and positivity. To lose her has left an enormous hole in all of our lives. She is deeply loved and so incredibly missed every single day. The pain of losing her is still very raw, and there isn’t a moment that goes by where I don’t think of her.
During her final months, she was cared for with such love, dignity, and compassion at Nightingale House Hospice. The staff there didn’t just care for Mum — they supported our whole family through the hardest and most heart breaking times of our lives. For that, I will always be grateful.
To honour Mum’s memory and to give something back to this incredible place, I am self funding the challenge of a lifetime: climbing to Everest Base Camp. At 5,364 metres (17,598 ft), it’s 16 times taller than the Empire State Building and 18 times taller than the Eiffel Tower. The air has only half the oxygen we breathe at sea level. It will be one of the toughest things I’ve ever done — but every step I take will be for Mum and for all the families who need the care Nightingale House provides. Provided I can show half the resilience she did during her life then I will be just fine and finish with a smile!
💜 Every penny you donate will go directly to Nightingale House Hospice.
Your sponsorship will help them continue their vital work – offering free, specialist care and support to not only their patients with life-limiting illnesses, but to their loved ones too. A resource that has significantly supported Claire over the past 6 months 💜
If you can, please support me in this challenge. Whether it’s the price of a coffee or something more, every donation makes a difference. Together, we can make sure Nightingale House is there for others, just as it was for my dear Mum and our family.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart 💜
