On April 27th 2025, I will be running the Manchester Marathon with the aim of raising £1,000 for Alder Hey Children’s Charity. This is charity that is close to heart. Two of my cousins underwent treatment in their early stages of life, Emma was treated for Leukaemia and Calum had a bone marrow transplant and his spleen removed, due to early signs of Leukaemia and more recently, my good friends Jay and Ania’s 1 year old daughter Kita, is in the care of Alder Hey battling a rare form on brain cancer.

Kita Mai, at only 14 months old, was rushed to Alder Hey Hospital on the 16th of July, after a scan found a mass on her brain. Within 24 hours Kita had already undergone the first urgent operation on her brain, which discovered a brain tumour where she was later diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and since the diagnosis, Kita has been under the fantastic care and supervision of Alder Hey.
