Story

Why the London Marathon?

The 26.2 mile race itself is the final piece in the jigsaw:

- 7 months of preparation

- Rehab, prehab and all things injury prevention,

- Training scheduling around dark early winter mornings

- Juggling of work and home duties

- Rinse, repeat and steadily do more and more for 30 weeks

I hope to inspire others to take on similar challenges in the future, for personal discipline, improving self confidence and all the social and health benefits you can think relevant.

Why the NSPCC

Every child deserves a nurturing environment to grow up in, free of abuse, harassment and fear. In their own words:

"The NSPCC is the leading children's charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. We help children who have been abused to rebuild their lives, protect those at risk, and find the best ways of preventing abuse from ever happening.

Every child deserves the best possible chance to rebuild their life after abuse

That’s why we’re here. That's what drives all our work. And that’s why – as long as there’s abuse – we will fight for every childhood."
