Story
I’m raising money for Camden Music Trust (https://camdenmusictrust.org/) because I’ve recently joined its Board of Trustees and have seen first-hand how important its work is for children and young people in Camden. The Trust helps ensure access to music education and activities of Camden Music Service, particularly for those facing financial or personal hardship, and in doing so supports not just musical development but also confidence, resilience, happiness, and teamwork, skills that carry far beyond music itself.
To support this work, I’m taking on a half marathon and aiming for a sub-1 hour 30 finish! It’s a challenging but exciting goal, and a good excuse to train properly and push myself along the way. Every donation will go directly to helping young people in Camden take part in music-making and benefit from the opportunities the Service provides.
ChatGPT looked at my last reference point (a 20K in Brussels in 1:34 back in 2018) and wasn’t exactly optimistic, putting the chances at under 5% given the time gap and the pace required. I’ve decided to take that as encouragement!
