Dalcour Maclaren is fundraising for its chosen charity partner, Brain Tumour Research, to help find a cure for all types of brain tumours.

Story

On Saturday 27 September 2025, I’m taking on the Hever Castle Sprint Triathlon; a 750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run around the stunning grounds of Hever Castle. It’s a proper challenge for me as I get back up to fitness, and crossing that finish line will be a big personal milestone.

I’m using this effort to raise money for Brain Tumour Research, Dalcour Maclaren’s chosen charity partner for 2025. Many of us know someone affected by brain tumours, yet the disease remains critically underfunded. Brain tumours kill more children and adults under 40 than any other cancer, and historically have received around 1% of the national spend on cancer research we can help change that.

Survival rates are stubbornly low fewer than 20% of patients survive five years after diagnosis, so funding research is vital to accelerate better diagnostics and treatments. Recent advances (like blood tests being developed to speed up diagnosis) show what’s possible when research is backed. Your donation genuinely fuels progress.

I’m proud to be doing this as part of Dalcour Maclaren’s fundraising for Brain Tumour Research this year. Please support if you can—every pound will spur me on through training and on race day, and more importantly, it will help fund the research needed to save lives. Thank you.
