π 40,000 STEPS A DAY FOR NERVE TUMOURS UK π
This October, Iβm taking on a challenge that means a huge amount to me β walking 40,000 steps EVERY DAY for the entire month to raise money for Nerve Tumours UK.
Thatβs a massive 1.24 million steps across October! π
Nerve Tumours UK is a charity very close to my heart. They have supported not only me, but my family too.
I live with Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1), a genetic condition that can cause tumours to grow along nerves and can affect people in many different ways. Living with NF1 means that some everyday things can be more challenging than people may realise.
I also have an optic nerve glioma β a tumour affecting the nerve pathway that carries visual information from the eye to the brain. This has affected my eyesight, which has gradually become worse, and I am now registered as visually impaired.
One of the things that makes Nerve Tumours UK so important is the specialist NF support they provide. Having knowledgeable NF nurses available to speak to people living with the condition and their families can make such a difference β especially when youβre struggling, worried or simply need someone who understands.
Thatβs why I want to give something back. π
Throughout October, whatever the weather and however tired I am, my goal is:
π 40,000 steps EVERY DAY
π 31 days
πΆ Around 1,240,000 steps in total
Itβs going to be a massive challenge, especially with the difficulties I already face, but thatβs what makes it mean even more to me.
Every step will have a purpose.
Any donation, no matter how big or small, would be massively appreciated and will be going towards a charity that means so much to me and many other people affected by NF.
If you canβt donate, simply sharing this post would mean just as much. The more people we can reach, the more awareness we can raise. π
Thank you so much for your support.
40,000 steps. Every day. One month. One very important cause. π
