Story
Thank you for taking the time to read Tommys story. As a lot of you will already know Tommy was diagnosed with an extremely rare liver disease at just 13 days old. Tommy became so poorly that at just 6 weeks old he received a liver transplant. Tommy’s Mummy’s Best Friend “Auntie Kayleigh” was Tommy’s living donor 🧡 Without Auntie Kayleigh and the fantastic transplant team Tommy wouldn’t be here today.
Tommy’s Mummy and his Auntie Kayleigh later set up “Tommys Journey” to support any future families emotionally and financially that receive this diagnosis of their newborn.
On the 31st July until the 3rd August Tommy will be competing in the British Transplant Games 🥹 This is Tommy’s first year of attending and we couldn’t be more excited for him and this amazing experience. At the games Tommy will be able to meet and interact with other children who have also had transplants and Tommy’s parents will have the chance to support and offer support to other parents.
As you can imagine this will be an emotional weekend for Tommy and his family but what a wonderful weekend to be apart of.
Tommy would like to fundraise as much as he can for his charity Tommys Journey and would appreciate any donations big or small!
Tommy will be competing in the below:
• Obstacle race
• Ball throw
• Athletics social skills (which Tommy’s baby brother Robby will also be taking part in).
• Bean bag archery
• Sport stacking social (which Tommy’s baby brother Robby will also be taking part in).
• 2.5k donor run (Tommy, his mummy, daddy and Robby).
• Tug of war (which Tommy’s baby brother Robby will also be taking part in).
• 25m dash
We can’t wait to share photos of this amazing event and can’t wait to see Tommy thrive throughout the whole weekend.
A very special thank you from Tommy himself 🧡🩵
