NWRC aim to create a network of recovery communities that support individuals to establish and maintain abstinence from long term substance misuse. Based on the concepts of mutual aid, individuals are supported to develop the positive support network and social capital necessary to develop meaningful lives, breaking the cycle of substance misuse, offending and homelessness. By supporting individuals to recover from long term substance misuse, offending and homelessness issues, we significantly reduce the demand placed upon the primary care, criminal justice and social housing sectors, greatly reducing the “Social cost” of addiction.

Story

Our beloved friend Tomos Wyn Morgan passed away unexpectedly in May 2014, and Roman and I are cycling across Wales in his memory. We start in the South - from the other side of the border at Roman's house in Bristol - through to Tomos' family home in Anglesey, North Wales.

We are fundraising for North Wales Recovery Community who aim to create a communal network that supports individuals to recover from long term substance misuse.

We were unable to do enough for Tomos while he was with us - we hope these funds will go some way to helping other vulnerable people in the community Tomos loved and called home.

In memory of Tomos Wyn Morgan, 1983 - 2014.
