Cycle from ty gobaith to hope house and back · 20 March 2024

Hope House and Ty Gobaith gives every local child with a life-threatening condition and their family access to professional care and improves their quality of life from the point of diagnosis.

Story

My name is Tom Bancroft and a bereaved parent of Karl Bancroft who Had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.and passed away in 2016.

Karl stayed at hope house when he was younger then Ty Gobaith once it was built, there he became very popular with the staff for many years who provided excellent care and well needed respite for my wife and I.

After his passing Ty Gobaith provided support through counciling which really helped with the grief..but I still struggle with having a purpose in life.

Now I have a 3 year old grandson Who also has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, spending time with him is a double edged sword as he gives me a purpose but it also reminds me of Karl my son and what is to come.

So this is why I have decided to challenge my self with cycling from Ty Gobaith to Hope House and back on March 20th 2024

The route will be mostly via the A5 and will be doing it in 1 day the route has some hard climbs so quite a challenge for me. I will also have Karl's mum my wife supporting me in the car for nutrition breaks.
