Story
Thank you for visiting my page.
In 2018 my mum was diagnosed with a Sarcoma. It appeared as a slight lump on her thigh and we were not concerned at all. The doctor said to just keep an eye on it and let them know if it got any bigger. It did, and luckily my mum was not happy to leave it for long at all, as she was growing concerned, so she went back to the doctor. These are rare cancers, and can easily be missed by doctors. When she finally got her diagnosis, it was a terrible shock for the whole family. Luckily my Mum is incredibly strong and with the support of her family she got through weeks of radiotherapy and a big operation on her thigh that removed the cancer. My mum cannot sing the praises of Addenbrookes hospital, where she had 5 weeks of radiotherapy and in particular Birmingham Orthopaedic Hospital, where she had the operation and her regular checkups with a truly wonderful consultant. My mum, thankfully, has remained clear of cancer for over 6 years. We've made so many wonderful memories since that time and I feel honoured to try and raise money for this charity and to support their great work in raising awareness of this very rare cancer.
Sarcoma UK, a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep our Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.
Thank you for your support.
