Ben Nevis Charity Walk in memory of Tom Clarke · 30 June 2023

The Tom Clarke Foundation has been set up for the public benefit and relief of those who are suffering or who have suffered with Cancer, Crohn’s & Colitis and who may require Hospice care who reside permanently or temporarily in the United Kingdom. “We would like to try and raise as much money as possible supporting the types of charities that Tom was keen to support. Hopefully with the continued breakthroughs in medical science there may be another “Tom” in the future that will receive a better prognosis. Please consider supporting The Tom Clarke Foundation”. Scott & Gill Clarke

Story

In 2021 & 2022 KPMG colleagues took on the challenge of climbing Scafell Pike & Snowdon in memory of our friend, Tom Clarke, to raise funds for the Christie hospital. We raised over £11000 which went towards a study on Oesophago-gastric cancer, immune-therapies and nutrition research.

On the 30th June 2023, we successfully completed the final and most challenging leg of our National Peaks Challenge, climbing the UK's tallest mountain Ben Nevis, standing at 1345m above sea level.

Our mountaineers who took on the challenge this year were:

Andrew Trasler, James Warren, Andy Jones, Jason Totten, Danny Walker, Warren Middleton, Ben Middleton, Eva Zheng, Lamia Mahfouz, Josh Maun-Townley, Georgie Evans, Kyle McManus, Simon Albrighton, Ian Brotherton, Aga Oczujda and Driton Avdiu.

Money will be raised directly through the Tom Clarke Foundation, with funds split between Crohns & Colitis UK and the very same study we chose to support last year.

We would be grateful for donations of any size, or even a message of support for the team! Please help us get one step closer in beating this devastating disease.
