***MY WHY: Please read🫶🏻***
The time has come for my next HUGE challenge! Safe to say the run-up to this event has not gone to plan, but we soldier on. In May, I herniated a disc in my back, had back surgery in October, and the recovery has been very slow, only getting back to running in the last two weeks. BUT here I go again…..
The Coastal Challenge Costa Rica:
Described as one of the world's most inspiring and gruelling multi-stage races, I’ll be taking on the Costa Rican jungle and coastline, in temperatures ~30 degrees, 98% humidity, across 140kms, with 4300mn of elevation gain over 6 days, camping each night in the jungle!

My WHY??? Because we all have a big WHY: I’m taking this mammoth challenge on to raise money for GRI-UK. Why GRI-UK… this is my charity, which was set up to help find a cure for my beautiful girl, who suffers from a rare genetic disorder GRIN2A. Solana suffers from so many life-altering symptoms of this genetic disorder, including global development delays, being non-verbal and a wheelchair user and the most challenging for her, very severe and complex epilepsy. I will endeavour to continue to push my body to the limit to raise money for research in the hope of finding a cure. Solana, despite all the adversity she faces daily, has taught me that anything is possible and never to give up, as she battles this disorder with infectious enthusiasm and an ever-present smile on her face.
So please do help my WHY, and any donation, no matter how small, will go a very long way in helping us find a cure for my beautiful little girl and all those who, like Solana, suffer from a GRI disorder🫶🏻
