Story
As the new Chair of the Forward Trust I have decided, against all medical and friendly wisdom, to take on the huge challenge of running the London Marathon this coming April. When I say "running", I am aware of the obstacles in my way: I am nearly 60 years old, have a metal knee and a couple of stents in my heart. Even at the height of my fitness, running was never my strong point. Nevertheless, I am going to be "Running for Recovery" because the work The Forward Trust does is so vitally important. It really is the most incredible charity, working tirelessly to help those among society at their lowest ebb: breaking people out of cycles of addiction and offending; helping families and indviduals - and society. It is one of the great honours of my life to lead it, and coming up 30 years of sobriety, whatever I can do to help it, I will. Thank you so much in advance for donating whatever you can, it really will make a massive difference.
