Story

The Macmillan team, through our main contact the lovely Jess, supported both Tony as patient and Jane as carer. Jess navigated us through what, at times, could seem a rather daunting web of GP, District Nurse, Community Support, Occupational Support and Hospice services. Macmillan first set about sorting out some practical interventions to make dealing with life with cancer that bit easier - including referring us to Marie Curie. Latterly, Macmillan, in liaison with other healthcare providers, led the palliative care plan that fulfilled our wish for treatment that would enable Tony to remain at home as long as possible. Throughout all the uncertainties and ever shifting sands that is late stage cancer, Macmillan were always there to help and guide us.
