Story
The team at the Marie Curie Hospice, West Midlands is amazing. What you may not know is that their services focus as much on creating opportunities to help make the most of life in palliative care, as on providing a welcoming, caring environment specialising in helping each patient as an individual and their families through end of life. In his last six months, Tony benefited hugely from being able to share interests and experiences with those on a similar journey - through creative art classes, the Man Shed, Counselling and Complementary therapies. Carers benefit too, and services do not stop when a loved one dies - Jane continues to be supported with Counselling and Complementary therapy. Over his last nine days, Tony was looked after in the hospice with extraordinary compassion and professionalism, releasing our family from the burden of care and giving us the time, space and support just to be together.
