Story
This year I’m taking on the Great North Run to raise money for the National Association of Children of Alcoholics (Nacoa) – a charity that means a great deal to me.
As an adult child of an alcoholic, I know first-hand the damage that alcohol misuse in the family can cause. For many children, it brings fear, confusion, and above all, a painful sense of loneliness. Nacoa exists to change that – offering a lifeline through their helpline, resources, and ongoing support. They help children and young people understand that they are not alone, and that there is hope for a better future.
By running this race, I want to raise both awareness and £500 to support Nacoa’s vital work.
How Your Support Helps:
£10 could help Nacoa answer a call to their helpline.
£25 could provide information packs for families in crisis.
£50 could support the online services that reach children who feel invisible.
Every donation, big or small, will make a real difference.
Thank you so much for supporting me and this incredible cause. With your help, we can make sure that no child of an alcoholic feels alone
Nacoa (The National Association for Children of Alcoholics) is a Bristol based charity founded in 1990 to provide help and support for everyone affected by a parent’s drinking.
We believe that every child has the right to a happy childhood and to live a creative and meaningful life but when drink is the family secret they are more likely to experience family violence, neglect and other problems in their own homes.
