Brighton Football Marathon · 20 July 2024 ·

The Football Marathon is the ultimate test of skill and endurance! Now in its 22nd year, the event has raised over £2.1 million to support Tackle's work.

Story

Welcome everyone or should i say welcome back...

I will be once again leading 99 Problems, but the pitch Aint One, in one of footballs toughest challenges, The Tackle Africa Brighton 12 hour Football Marathon, to be played on Saturday 20th July at Waterhall playing Fields in Brighton.

This will be my 10th football marathon and another opportunity to play a game i still love, and raise money and awareness for a fabulous charity that really does change lives.

I was fortunate enough to visit Senegal in 2022 and see first hand the work of the Tackle team on the ground, and the difference the money raised makes to young peoples lives.

Now i am asking you to dig deep once more and make a difference as well as supporting me in my quest to survive 12 hours of football on hopefully a sunny day next month.

The marathon is Saturday 20th July at Waterhall playing fields in Brighton, so if you are local please do come down and cheer us on, even if its just for an hour or so.

We are putting our love of football to the ultimate test this summer by entering one of Tackle's Football Marathons - a unique fundraising event. Each year over 500 people take part in our regional 12-hour tournaments.

Tackle uses the power and popularity of football to deliver HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and services to young people on football pitches across Sub-Saharan Africa.

So please dig deep, all donations, however large or small are gratefully appreciated. Thanks again.
