Story
The 3 Peaks in a Week is a Army Cadet Expedition taking place between 10–16 August 2026.
During the expedition, cadets will climb the three highest mountains in the United Kingdom:
Ben Nevis in Scotland
Scafell Pike in the Lake District
Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) in North Wales
The challenge is designed to develop resilience, teamwork, leadership, self-discipline, and determination through physically demanding outdoor activity.
Alongside the expedition, the cadets are raising money for two charities:
Army Cadet Charitable Trust UK (ACCT UK)
Cancer Research UK
The event will require cadets to operate in challenging mountain environments, manage fatigue, work effectively as a team, and demonstrate perseverance throughout the week.
For many cadets, this will be their first experience of multi-day mountain expedition activity on this scale. The challenge will test both physical and mental resilience while providing valuable life experience and personal development opportunities.
Donations raised through the expedition will support the work of both charities while also recognising the effort and commitment shown by the cadets taking part.
Please support Salamanca Company, Somerset ACF, as they undertake the Three Peaks in a Week Adventure Training Charity Challenge.
