Story
He’s off again
Its time to get on my bike and get fund raising again and I’m setting myself a massive challenge. I intend to cycle the whole length of Hadrian’s wall from Ravenglass to South Shields 174 miles in 2 days, then attempt to catch a train home swap bikes and then get across to Liverpool for day 3,
Day 3 sees me attempting Liverpool to Leeds 127 miles in a day so a total of 301 miles in 3 days
A hard challenge but one which I hope will raise awareness and valuable funds to help others
Why to raise funds and awareness of 3 good causes, MND, Manorlands Hospice and my local football club Burley trojans. I have raised funds for MND and Manorlands for several years and they deserve so much praise for the work they do. This year I’ve added our clubhouse project for Burley Trojans, we need a focal point for our local community, and we are hoping to have a new clubhouse built which can help the next generations play and develop as well as bringing the community together. It wont just be a football clubhouse it will enable support groups to flourish such as mental health support and become a valuable and important resource for our community.
I have raised funds and awareness of MND for several years and each year challenge myself to do something unique and difficult and this year is no different, I’m not Kevin Sinfield nor do I have a massive social media following BUT I do care and I think we need to keep raising awareness and funds for MND. So I’m ready for a new challenge, despite being unfit and not having done much on me bike I’ve decided to use up some of my annual leave days at work.
It’s a long way and it won’t be easy
A total of 301 miles in 3 days
It will be tough and painful but worth it if I can help others so please donate
Tony
