Tony Jackson is raising money for Dementia UK

Dementia · 10 May 2025

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses – who we continually support and develop – provide life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Story

Hi, Tony Jackson here. Dawne my Wife of 59 years has dementia and I am her full time carer. Dementia is a horrible condition which gradually takes away her dignity and mental capacity.

I want to raise money for Dementia UK by doing a sponsored walk up Caer Caradoc (1500ft) which is in Shropshire. It will be a challenge since I am 83 years old with a heart pacemaker fitted but I am confident, and will be walking with one or two of my younger family.

The walk will take place on May 11th or 12th, and is 5 miles long or may be extended to 7 miles depending on the route taken. I hope to raise at least £300 so can you please donate as little or as much as you can to help me to help these charities. All donations go to the charity.
