THAMES BRIDGES TREK
SATURDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER
25KM OR IN OLD MONEY 15.5 MILES
Well as some of you may know I have been persuaded to do the Thames Bridges Putney Bridge to Tower Bridge on Saturday 13th September starting off from Bishops Park in Putney at 11.30am.

I did the London Marathon back in 1987 and swore never again , but have been drawn out of retirement for this one off challenge. I have quietly been in training since January this year so it SHOULD be a reasonably comfortable "Trek" I've been averaging a consistant 3 mph so anticipating 5.5 - 6hrs
I'm doing this walk with four women including my dear wife, Ann, Ann's daught Lucy , Daughter in-law Louisa and a couple of friends of theirs.
As a team we are the ‘Golden Oldies’ with an age range from 41 to 70.
FUNDRAISING
My wife Ann volunteers at the St Peter and St Paul Food Pantry in Rustington. The Pantry is open to anyone struggling financially. They run 4 Pantry sessions a week in different locations: the church hall and 3 schools. All the food they give out is donated by large and small local businesses, people in the community, and churches.
Each week over a 100 people can choose up to 10 items of food, from fresh vegetables, fruit, bread, tinned products, hygiene and laundry products. That’s a massive 1000 items a week. ANYONE WHO IS STRUGGLING FINANCIALLY IS WELCOME.
Alongside the Church Pantry each week, we also have a space for FREE coffee and chat and where representative from various welfare services offer advice from debt managements, housing, electric, gas, water, and insurance concerns. Once a month we have a dinner for Pantry users, often sponsored by a local business. Plus, a quieter afternoon tea for a small group of adult Pantry users, also once a month
If you can, will you please support us by donating to the St Peter and St Paul Food Pantry in Rustington, any donation is appreciated even £5 can go along way to helping a family that is struggling.
Or please support us by cheering us on, thinking of us and praying for good weather and strong legs. Thank you.
