Torbay Communities is the home of the Torbay Community Helpline and much, much more. We are a charity and rely on the generosity of our funders to keep delivering our services. We need to raise £1.3m a year to maintain our essential work in the community.

Story

We at Torbay Communities will be supporting Kitson Boyce's 200km Trek Fundraiser, joining them on Sunday 17th May 2026, as they journey across Torbay on foot.

Marking our Milestone: The Challenge

"We’re proud to have reached 200 years of Kitson Boyce. A legacy that was kickstarted in 1826 by our founder William Kitson and is now being driven through the shared vision and values of our team.

"To mark our milestone, we’ve planned one epic challenge: On Saturday 16th May to Wednesday 20th May 2026 our team will partake in a 200km walk spanning across five days and covering the coastline of each of our office locations. Starting from our Exeter office and finishing at Mount Batten in Plymouth! This is a mission that will be completed by all our KB team who have either signed up for a full 40km day or pledged their chosen distance – every step counts!

"We wouldn’t have reached this tremendous legacy without the support and trust of our local community, that’s why we’re delighted to be raising funds for one of our chosen charity partners, Torbay Communities."

Who are Torbay Communities?

Established following discussions with more than 100 voluntary sector representatives, the Torbay Community Development Trust (TCDT) was formed with the intention of making Torbay a place where all people feel included. The Trust empowers communities, building on strengths and skills through Asset-Based Community Development.

Now known as Torbay Communities, their overall aim is to create stronger and more resilient communities across the Bay, actively encouraging local involvement and decision-making in improving the region, as well as developing and supporting volunteering opportunities of the highest standards.
