Story
For those with Alzheimer’s disease, or those supporting them, repetition, patience and resilience are day to day challenges.
This event will test participants’ resilience and patience in a repetitive challenge that can be scaled to suit most abilities.
On 04 September 2026, participants will run or walk a 6.7km lap of the area surrounding Torness power station on the hour every hour, for as many hours of a 12 hour shift as they can manage. Those completing all 12 laps will have travelled 50 miles!
Scary. Repetitive. Frustrating. Challenging. Emotional. But nothing compared to the challenges faced by those with Dementia and their families, which some of us have experienced first hand.
Together we are aiming to travel as far as possible, and raise as much money as possible for this great cause.
Please support the Torness team with your donations. (Note that this fundraising page is for the whole Torness team doing the event, not just Jonathan Hart, who registered the page!)
Thank you!
