Francis’ Daddy and Grandad Steve, who both have CHD themselves, will be running the Toronto Island 10k in Canada this September in aid of Tiny Tickers alongside fellow delegates from Camp A2X 2025.

Francis was born in 2019 with undiagnosed congenital heart defects, which were only discovered after he was born. Sadly Francis passed away from complications with these suddenly and unexpectedly at 6 months old.

We raised an incredible amount of over £1000 for Tiny Tickers when we ran in 2024, so it would be amazing to meet this target again and do all we can to raise funds and awareness for this very important cause!

A baby is born with a serious heart condition every two hours in the UK and despite congenital heart disease being one of the biggest killers of infants, only around half of congenital heart defects are picked up during routine prenatal scanning.

With your help we can provide a safety net for the 1,000 babies each year that leave hospital with their heart defect undetected, increasing detection rates, improving a baby’s chances of survival and long-term quality of life.
