We are delighted to share some very exciting news: Torriano is planning a major redevelopment of our KS1 playground!

Over the past year, staff have worked closely with specialist playground designers to create a vision for a truly inspiring outdoor environment—one that reflects the creativity, imagination, and sense of community at the heart of Torriano. We are thrilled with the final designs and cannot wait to see the space transformed into a vibrant, nature-rich playground that will support play, learning, wellbeing, and environmental awareness for years to come.

We have already secured a slot for the works to be carried out during the summer holidays, ensuring the new playground is ready for pupils in September. Because our playgrounds remain open for families to enjoy long after the school bell has rung, this inclusive, sustainable space will benefit our entire community, not just KS1 pupils.

The total cost of this project is £69,000.

We are incredibly grateful to have already secured a substantial portion of the funding needed for the project. This includes:

- £30,000 award from Run Kids Run, following a successful grant bid

- £20,000 raised by the PTA through events like this year’s Quiz Night and Spring Fair

These achievements reflect the incredible commitment of our wider school community, for which we are enormously thankful.

However, a funding gap remains between the funds secured and the project's final cost. We are therefore launching a final fundraising push over the last weeks of term to help us bring this vision fully to life.
