Story
The Challenge
Summer 2026, I’ll be hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc, a 170km trek through France, Italy, and Switzerland — circling the highest mountain in Western Europe.
Over roughly 10 days, I’ll climb and descend more than 10,000 metres — carrying everything I need on my back and testing my endurance in every way.
It’s a big challenge that's become all I can think about and I’m using it as a way to raise funds and awareness for a cause that means a lot to me.
The Cause: WRASAC
I’m fundraising for the Women’s Rape & Sexual Abuse Centre (WRASAC) here in Scotland — a local charity offering free, confidential support to adults and young people in Dundee, Angus, and North East Fife who have experienced any form of sexual violence, at any time in their lives.
WRASAC’s work changes lives:
- Providing one-to-one and group support for survivors.
- Educating schools and communities about consent and prevention.
- Advocating for justice and equality.
They rely on community donations to keep offering these vital services — and every contribution really does make a difference.
Why It Matters to Me
As both a psychotherapist and a survivor, this cause is profoundly personal.
I’ve seen — both in my own life and through the stories of people I’ve supported — the deep and lasting impact that sexual violence can have. I’ve also seen the incredible resilience, courage, and healing that are possible when the right support is available.
That’s why I’ve started volunteering with WRASAC: because I believe in what they do, and I see every day how much their work matters. Their services offer survivors a lifeline — a space to be heard, believed, and supported in rebuilding their lives.
Taking on the Tour du Mont Blanc feels symbolic to me: it’s a journey of endurance, of facing challenges step by step, and of reaching new heights after pain and struggle. Every climb, every mile, is a reminder of the strength it takes to survive — and the hope that drives recovery.
Follow the Journey
I’ll be filming short clips and reflections each day of the trek, and once I’m back, I’ll post a daily “Tour du Mont Blanc diary” series.
