Help us get up those hills and raise funds for Rekindle School!
On 30 April, Samra Said and Katy Rubin are taking on the Tour de Manc 100km ride together across the hills (4,400 feet!) of Greater Manchester. Samra is a seasoned distance cyclist and the chair of Cycle Sisters in London, while Katy's never done a long ride, using the bike to commute around Manchester - but we're both serious about lifelong learning, new adventures, and building community power. Creative popular education is central to the work we both do (and to our friendship too!). That's why we're raising money for Rekindle School as we train for the ride!
Rekindle is a growing supplementary school in Manchester, designed and led by young people and radical teachers: the school we all wish we’d attended! Their mission is to rekindle a love of education in young people, by centering care, community support and critical thinking. Afternoon and weekend programs for youth and families include hot meals, movement, learning, and joy, always completely free.
We aim to raise £1000 or more throughout April - and Ramadan - to support Rekindle's incredible work: for the 1000+ km we'll jointly ride this month!
