To celebrate the expansion of the Border to Coast partnership in 2026, Chief Stakeholder Officer, Ewan McCulloch, is taking on an incredible challenge. In August, Ewan will cycle almost 1,300 kilometres across England in just 10 days, visiting every Partner Fund along the way. His route includes more than 9,900 metres of climbing – that's a greater ascent than riding to the summit of Mount Everest – taking him from Cumbria and Tyne & Wear in the north to Kent and Sussex in the south, with stops at landmarks that reflect the story of our partnership.

The Tour de Partnership celebrates our shared values, strengthens the connections between our Partner Funds and raises vital funds for a range of charities that support our local communities.

As a Border to Coast Partner Fund, SYPA is proud to be supporting the challenge by raising money for Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity. Chosen by our Health, Safety and Wellbeing Committee, the charity is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and has spent five decades funding life-changing equipment, pioneering research, family support and improvements that make a real difference to young patients and their families. This year also marks the 150th anniversary of Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust, making it an especially meaningful time to show our support.

To support the Tour de Partnership we are planning our own pedal challenge which will see our employees try to match Ewan's 1300km using some pedal cycles in the office or bike rides with their families! For those who want something a bit less energetic we are also planning a quiz all around our partner locations!
