My Birthday Fundraiser – Supporting Men’s Mental Health
On 30th January, it’s my birthday.
This year, instead of gifts, I’m asking for support for something that truly matters. I help run a men’s mental health group that meets on the first Saturday of every month. It’s a safe space where men can turn up exactly as they are — no pressure, no judgement, no need to pretend they’re okay when they’re not.
I’ve seen what happens when men finally feel able to talk.
I’ve also seen what happens when they don’t.
The reality we can’t ignore
In the UK, around three-quarters of suicides are men
Men are around three times more likely to die by suicide than women
Suicide is still one of the leading causes of death for men under 50
These aren’t statistics to me — they’re lives.
They’re dads, sons, brothers, friends.
Men who felt they had nowhere to go and no one to talk to.
Why this group matters
Sometimes, the smallest things make the biggest difference:
A free cup of tea or coffee
some food
A place where someone notices if you don’t show up
This fundraiser will help cover the cost of refreshments and food, so no one feels like they don’t belong or can’t afford to come. It helps keep the door open to men who might otherwise stay silent — or stay home.My birthday wish
If my birthday can help even one man feel less alone, then it’s worth it.
You can help by:
💙 Donating whatever you can — every pound genuinely helps
🫂 Sharing this page so it reaches someone who might need it
Thank you for helping me turn my birthday into something that could save lives.
From the bottom of my heart — thank you for caring.
