Addison's Afternoon Tea 2025 Ā· 1 May 2025 to 31 May 2025 Ā·
I am proud to be hosting an Addison's Afternoon Tea to raise awareness and funds for the Addison's Disease Self-Help Group (ADSHG).
I am holding a fundraising day to raise money for this amazing charity, they provide vital advice, resources and support.
I was diagnosed with Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency in 2020 following my radiation therapy for breast cancer and a series of traumatic events including four major surgeries , ill health and devastating loses.
This is a life threatening condition, I take daily medication and I carry an injection pack in case of adrenal crisis. This condition affects every part of my life and I have to be very careful managing symptoms and triggers that cause crisis. I am lucky beyond belief to have my amazing family who support me daily š«¶š¼
My fundraiser will be a combination of an afternoon tea party and the selling of handmade resin gifts. I have recently started making resin items and Iād like to sell them to raise some money for the charity.
The event will be held at my mumās house as she has a beautiful garden and we are hoping for the weather to be kind š¤ āļø
We will be selling hot and cold drinks alongside homemade cakes and bakes and you will have an opportunity to look at and hopefully buy any of the resin items available. These will include key rings, bookmarks, coasters, trinket boxes and hopefully some other unique items.
There will be a few bespoke wooden items for sale with all profits going to the charity.
We will also be selling beautiful, handmade greetings cards supplied by the very talented Kat Smith.
Please help us support this vital charity šš»
The ADSHG charity supports everyone affected by Addison's and adrenal insufficiency. Addisonās is a rare endocrine condition where the adrenal glands do not produce enough steroid hormones and can be life-threatening. It affects approximately 1 in 10,000 people and is roughly 300 times rarer than diabetes.
Every donation will go directly towards the Addisonās Disease Self-Help Groupās mission of supporting the Addison's and adrenal insufficiency community and their healthcare providers as well as supporting vital research. Together, we can make a real difference.
Every penny raised helps us support people affected by Addison's disease and adrenal insufficiency.
