Lake District Ultra Challenge 2025 · 7 June 2025 to 8 June 2025 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

If you’ve been touched by dementia, you will understand why my teammates and I are taking on yet another tough fund-raising challenge!

Getting dementia is my biggest fear in life, having watched my lovely mum go through it. She was in her early 60’s when she was diagnosed with vascular dementia. She was the most kind, loving, talented, creative person that you could ever meet and just the best mum to me and my brother.

We watched her deteriorate over the years to the point that for the last 5 years of her life she was a body in a bed, and she couldn’t communicate in anyway. She finally died when she was 74 but dementia took her away long before that.

Aaron’s Granny also suffered this awful disease so I’m also walking and fund raising in her memory.

There are far too many people that have dementia, and the situation is getting worse. We need to do more research to help stop or at least slow down the symptoms of dementia and that’s why I’m walking 50KM for the Alzheimer’s Society.

If you can, however small, please donate and help me raise as much money as possible.

Thank you
