If you know me or my husband Martin, you probably know that we have been trying to have a baby for the last ten years.

A decade is a very long time to hold onto hope for, especially when that timeline has included 9 rounds of IVF, one ectopic pregnancy, one early miscarriage at 9 weeks and one chemical pregnancy. In fact, the last ten years have broken us both down to the very depths of despair at times.

However, that timeline also brough me to the doorstep of the crafty cat cafe on the 7th of August, 2023. Stepping into that cafe, welcomed me into the world of Chasing Rainbows; a peer support charity for women struggling with multiple miscarriages and infertility. When I arrived at the cafe, I had no idea what to expect, but I opened up to a group of women I had never met before, in a way I wasn't able to open up to anyone else, because these women had all been where I was. On the edge of giving up, of breaking down, feeling like I couldn't possibly go any lower. I left that first meeting feeling like the weight of the world had been lifted from my shoulders and over the past 2 and a half years, I have looked forward to every monthly meeting, even in months when I didn't have much to share, because it felt equally good to sit and be the support for other members of the group.

Since then, Chasing Rainbows has been an incredible support to me on my continued journey to start my family, but at our Christmas secret Santa 2025, Sam decided to make another long standing but so far un-realised dream of mine come true- to run the London Marathon.

This dream is the only dream I've held onto longer than having a baby! I started applying for London in 2013 and have so far had 13 years of rejection emails. When Chasing Rainbows applied for the charity ballot for 2027 and got one place, they were gracious enough to give me my shot!

I know I am setting this page up well in advance, but I really want to raise as much money for the charity as possible, including alternative events I will be participating in or organising.
