Story
Mary, Mabel and I are taking part in Paws 4 Paws the big DNA dog walk this year . During November we are aiming to walk 100km to raise money for the Canine Genetics Centre .
The Canine Genetics Centre is a charity which carries out life- changing research for dogs investigating genetic diseases such as epilepsy and those that cause blindness and those of you that know us know this is a subject close to my heart . Both my girls are affected by PLL , a debilitating painful eye condition and both have had major eye surgery to try and save their sight for as long as possible and allow them a normal pain free life as possible. Mabel has the Adams gene an early on set PLL that was discovered over a decade ago and steps can be taken in breeding programmes to try and avoid dogs born with it in the future , however Mary’s PLL appears to be a genetic mutation that has not been identified and is now under research at the Canine Genetics Centre.
Please sponsor Mary and Mabel to complete this challenge as we walk and wag to change lives …. Every step and every pound will make a difference for dogs with inherited disease.
Thank you so much 🐾🐾
