Story
This June I’ll be taking part in Breast Cancer Now’s Pink Ribbon Walk in memory of Shelley. We both started working at Breast Cancer Care together in 2007 and we became great friends. Sadly Shelley died of secondary breast cancer in December 2022 aged just 39. I miss her and think about her every day.
Shelley loved exercise and was one of the fittest people I knew, even throughout her treatment. So this summer I’m going to #bemoreShelley and along with a whole team of wonderful friends and colleagues I’ll be walking 20 miles at the Chatsworth Pink Ribbon Walk in memory of Shelley and to raise valuable funds for Breast Cancer Now.
Breast Cancer Now is here to change the lives of people affected by breast cancer by combining the power of research and support.
Their world-class researchers are working in labs across the UK and Ireland to create a world where the words "breast cancer" aren't met with fear.
And because over 600,000 people are living with or beyond the disease, they’re here with support for today too. Their helpline, health information and support services are here for anyone affected by breast cancer.
Breast Cancer Now’s vision is that by 2050, everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live – and be supported to live well.
