For a canny long time, I've wanted to do a parachute jump - it's been on my bucket list forever! I had wanted to do it on my 50th but a little thing called Covid got in the way - thanks for that!

Well I've finally gotten around to it (better late than never) so in less than a month and on my 53rd birthday, I'll be throwing myself out of a plane at 10,000 feet - and for the cheeky amongst you, yes I will be wearing a parachute! I'm also planning on wearing a rat onesie if I can find one!

As you are aware, I am obsessed by all things rodent like and have kept Gambian Pouched Rats for many years. I rescued Mister Merlin from his previous owner in 2020 and his sister Lil Miss Bobo a year later. They are the most amazing and loving creatures and although they can be beyond cheeky, I am so proud to be their human. Sadly Mister Merlin passed away suddenly and without warning at the beginning of December 2023 - I was and still am heartbroken. So to honour his memory, I decided to raise money for an humanitarian organisation close to my heart.

I am also part of the admin team for UKPouchies - the longest established Pouchie support group in the UK! Our amazing founder Lesley Reed set the group up in 2008 so we've been going 16 years! UKPouchies are proud to work alongside APOPO who train these amazing creatures to detect landmines in war zones and TB in the poorly. They are also involved in training dogs to detect earthquake survivors!
