For a canny long time, I've wanted to do a parachute jump - it's been on my bucket list forever! I had wanted to do it on my 50th but a little thing called Covid got in the way - thanks for that!

Well I've finally gotten around to it (better late than never) so in less than a month and on my 53rd birthday, I'll be throwing myself out of a plane at 10,000 feet - and for the cheeky amongst you, yes I will be wearing a parachute! I'm also planning on wearing a rat onesie if I can find one!

Wor Magoo aka David was truly the most amazing and inspirational person I've ever met! He always had a smile on his face and was kind and selfless beyond belief! David welcomed me into the Durham family with open arms - his sense of humour was outstanding and was always up for a bit of a sing song with family and anyone who came to visit! Magoo lived with the nightmare that is Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy but never once did I hear him complain - he just got on with it. Magoo's younger brother also lives with this cruel and nasty disease. Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a serious condition that causes progressive muscle weakness. Owing to the lack of the dystrophin protein, muscle fibres break down and are replaced by fibrous and or fatty tissue causing the muscle to weaken gradually.

Sadly Wor Magoo passed away suddenly and without warning at the beginning of March 2021aged only 35 - I was and still am heartbroken. So to honour his memory, I decided to raise money for the charity that does so much to help those who live with such a cruel disease on a daily basis. I understand that times are hard for many of us but every penny I manage to raise will and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for any help you can offer!

Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity for 111,000 people living with muscle-wasting conditions. They are making a difference today, providing vital information and support to help people live as independently as possible. They are making a difference for tomorrow, accelerating progress in research and driving the campaign for access to emerging treatments. They seek to cure or find treatments for muscular dystrophy and other muscle-wasting conditions, and to improve the lives of those affected.
