Forth Bridge Abseil in loving memory of Gorgeous John for CHSS

FBA – Forth Bridge Abseil · 16 June 2024 ·
This isn't the first time I've been involved with fundraising or charity work. Please refer to the gallery above for information.
I have volunteered all over Scotland from Glasgow to Dingwall and various places in between.
Any of my volunteering or fundraising was done to make a difference in other people's lives and I felt happy doing something positive to help others.
This time it's personal and although it won't benefit the person who I am doing it for as my dad is no longer with us, I am doing it out of love and respect for him.
Not only will it be Fathers Day on the date I do the abseil from the Forth Rail Bridge, it will also be close to my parents 48th Wedding Anniversary.
My dad was born with an inherited heart condition, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy which meant the walls of his heart thickened over time.
He had a defibrillator fitted years ago in case his heart stopped due to the condition and because he was well looked after by my mum and he looked after himself by eating healthy, not drinking often and quitting smoking he was able to manage it quite well.
My dad passed away last October which was a shock to the whole family as the day before he was taken to hospital he was laughing and joking with family members and didn't appear ill at all.
I am also doing this abseil for my Mum who has since had a Stroke, my youngest Sister who was born with a Heart Murmur which has healed, my other 2nd youngest sister who has Asthma and my Partners Dad who has had heart problems in the past.
Thank you 😊
