Alex’s family and friends fundraiser for Sarcoma UK

In April 2023 after several virtual GP appointments and misdiagnosis of irritable bowel and acid reflux Alex was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma , Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumour (DSRCT).
As a family we had never heard of sarcoma never mind DSRCT. We have learnt first hand the devastating nature of this cancer and how it affects mainly young males under the age of 30.
Often symptomless until at an advanced stage the cancer progresses within soft tissue, muscle and fat. There is no research funding supplied by the big cancer charities and therefore we particularly support the sarcoma Uk efforts to train GPs and include sarcoma education at junior doc level so that there are less delays at diagnosis stage.

We are supporting Sarcoma UK, a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting us, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep our Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.
Thank you for your support.
