💙 Why I’m Fundraising

I am raising funds for the Lymphangiomatosis and Gorham's Disease Alliance (LGDA) after my son was diagnosed with a complex lymphatic anomaly (CLA) — a rare and often misunderstood condition. Like many families affected by rare diseases, we quickly learned how vital research, awareness, and patient support truly are.

The LGDA provides education, advocacy, and hope to patients and families worldwide affected by complex lymphatic anomalies (CLAs) and lymphatic malformations (LMs), while also supporting research into better treatments and outcomes.

🧸 What I’m Doing

I create handmade sock monkeys, each one sewn with care and made to be completely unique. These sock monkeys are sold via eBay UK, and 100% of the proceeds are donated to the LGDA through this JustGiving page.

Every monkey sold helps turn something handmade and comforting into something powerful — support for CLA and LM research.

🔬 Where the Money Goes

100% of the money raised from the sale of this Sock Monkey goes directly toward supporting research through the LGDA (Lymphangiomatosis and Gorham's Disease Alliance - www.lgdalliance.org). Funds contribute to the $25,000 Young Investigators Research Award, which is granted each year to an early-career researcher studying complex lymphatic anomalies and lymphatic malformations.

Research changes lives — and for CLAs and LMs, it starts with opportunities like this.

💸 How Donations Work

• The LGDA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charity registered in the USA

• As the sock monkeys are sold via eBay UK, I am unable to use eBay’s charity function

• Instead, all funds are donated through JustGiving, which is directly linked to the LGDA

• Donations from sock monkey sales will appear as offline donations

• To reduce international banking fees and ensure more of your money reaches the charity, payments will be made to the LGDA quarterly
