Story
I am taking part in the Maverick Trail Marathon on Saturday 19th July 2025 on behalf of the Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity. This is a 26.2 mile (42km) race taking place in Henley, with over 1000m of elevation, and a difficulty rating of 3 out of 5. Further information about the event can be found here: https://www.maverick-race.com/products/the-maverick-x-series-chilterns-2025
I have chosen to run in support of a charity very close to my heart. The Florence Nightingale Hospice charity supported my Aunt, Debbie Farrow, as she battled cancer. I will be running this event in memory of Debbie and in support of the amazing team at Florence Nightingale Hospice for the vital care they give. I previously ran the Cardiff Half Marathon for this charity, in memory of Debbie, raising over £500.
The team from Florence Nightingale are also currently supporting my Father-in-Law, Ian Church, through his own cancer battle. I will be running this event for Ian who has been supported by Cleo (his Florence Nightingale Nurse). Ian spent a short time in the Hospice and is doing amazingly well because of their support and his determination. I hope by raising some further funds they can continue to support families across Buckinghamshire in similar situations.
Cancer affects 1 in 2 people. I hope the donations raised through this event will support the amazing work of this charity. I know this event will be painful, but it will be nothing compared to those battling cancer.
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page and I hope you will consider donating to this worthwhile cause.
