Story
Our family is taking part in the 21.5 mile trail run around lake Ullswater in memory of our beloved sister, Rachel Pinington, who passed away suddenly after collapsing at her home in Lancaster on the 19th March 2026.
The North West Air Ambulance attended the scene and handled a very difficult situation with compassion, consoling myself in those final moments after battling unsuccessfully to save her life. For this I will be forever grateful to the team, as they could of done no more.
Rachel was a lover of nature and the outdoors and competed at many sports in her younger years, playing football for Ripley School and Lancaster Lionesses. She was also a talented horse rider, swimmer, skier and windsurfer in her younger years.
Rachel had unfortunately suffered with mental illness most of her adult life, however she still loved to watch sport and spending time outdoors. She was a season ticket holder at Morecambe FC and followed them from Christie Park all the way to Wembley and the Football League.
A proud daughter, sister, auntie, niece, cousin and friend to many during her 50 years of life and will be greatly missed. We have so many great memories on Ullswater growing up as kids during camping holidays in the lakes.
We all want to remember our bubbly, bouncing, laughing Rach x
Many thanks for reading our story.
