Beat gave me and my family the vital support we needed to help me recover from severe anorexia a few years ago, and gave me the amazing life I have now…. Without them I really don’t know where we’d be!

My illness stopped me doing many things and one of those was simply being able to run! After a long road of recovery and building myself back up physically and mentally I’m able to do the things I used to do, and have just started to run again with friends. To celebrate my recovery I’ll be taking part in two 10k events with my friend over the next two weeks to raise money for BEAT, to help to show others that recovery is possible with the right support, and you WILL get back to doing the things you love.

Eating disorders are serious mental illnesses with 1.25 million people in the UK have a diagnosed eating disorder and affect people of all ages and backgrounds.
