Chiltern Physiotherapy's 24hr Treadmill Challenge for 1st Chorleywood Scout Group

Nicky Edwards is raising money for 1st Chorleywood Scout Group

24 hr Treadmill Challenge · 28 February 2025

At 1st Chorleywood Scouts, we give young people from age 6 to 18 the opportunity to build confidence, skills and resilience through experiences in a safe and friendly environment, helping them to grow into the person they want to be. We have a large building as HQ that needs extensive modernisation.

Story

The 1st Chorleywood Scouts have a fantastic HQ building, which was built in the late 1940’s and further extended in the 1970s, allowing us to support thousands of young people in the village over the 77 years since scouting first started in Chorleywood.

It desperately needs to undergo an essential modernisation programme, focusing on electrical and fire safety works, which means that as of September 2024 the HQ is closed whilst Asbestos is removed. The overall costs of the project are running to around £90,000 (Asbestos survey and removals – £25,000, electrical survey and works – £25,000, rebuilding and decorating walls & ceilings, fire doors and exits that were removed – £25,000, minor upgrades in the building – £10,000). On top of this The 1st Chorleywood Scouts have lost income from hall rentals that cannot take place now.

This is why Chiltern Physiotherapy are doing a fundraiser to help contribute to this amazing facility that;s used by so many members of our community.

Every penny is gratefully received.
