Story

You are the first thought I wake up to each and everyday

You are the heavy weight in my heart that keeps me awake

You are the emptiness in my arms and the bassinet besides my bed

You are my last thought at night when I look at your hat and beg

You are the sun and moon and everything to me

You are my one

My little baby D

David and I will be trekking 10 miles in the Lake District to raise money for Sands as one of the many charities that supported us through the most difficult time in our lives. Those that know our connection to the Lake District will understand its importance, as it is a very special place for us and our son Dhillon.

Deciding to take part in this year’s trek comes at a very important milestone for myself. This year I turn 40 and whilst this can be a time of reflection and looking back, it can also be a time to be in the moment and do something positive.

Donation to Sands supports parents like David and I through various services such as the memorial garden where Dhillon has his pebble, a helpline, local groups and many more services throughout the year.

With your support we would like to raise as much awareness of Baby loss and funds to keep charities like Sands operating and continue their research.

To celebrate our son’s life, we will walk for him and hold him close to us when it gets tough. We will take in the beauty of nature and the kindness of others to give us courage to complete the trek.

With love

Nishta and David

For our son Dhillon, big brother to Luke
