Story
This month, our 10, 8 and 3 year old children will be taking on a challenging trek up Box Hill to raise funds for St John Eye Hospital Group, a remarkable charity that brings sight-saving care to some of the most vulnerable communities in the world.
St John Eye Hospital Group runs hospitals and clinics across Jerusalem, Gaza, the West Bank, and Jordan, providing free or heavily subsidised treatment to people who would otherwise go without. Their dedicated teams deliver:
👁️ Sight-restoring surgeries such as cataract and corneal operations
🧒 Urgent trauma care for children and adults
💊 Treatment for blinding diseases like glaucoma and diabetic eye disease
🚑 Community outreach clinics in remote and underserved areas
🎓 Training for local doctors and nurses, building long-term eye care capacity
Every year, their work transforms tens of thousands of lives, restoring vision, independence, and dignity — often in regions affected by conflict and hardship.
Our children wanted to take on a challenge that truly makes a difference. Climbing Box Hill is their way of showing commitment, compassion, and hope — step by step, helping others to see again.
It’s a steep, challenging climb with over 200 steps and sweeping hill paths — a big test for little legs! But we’re determined to reach the top together, step by step, to help others see again.
We’d love your support — whether by making a donation to this vital cause, or by joining us on the trek with your own families. Together, we can help bring the gift of sight to those who need it most. 💙
