Story

Hi,

I am doing the Great North Run this year to support this amazing charity.

I have been told by my spinal surgeon and specialists that this is my last chance to do this.

To be able to do the GNR I have also have had to put shoulder surgery on hold. The shoulder really blooming hurts but there would not be time to have the surgery, recover and do the 13.1 - my shoulder consultation is a legend and has backed my decision.

I will be selling raffle tickets later in the year and the winner can pick the colour of my hair for the half marathon.

Please share this with as many people as possible. As it is my swan song I want to raise as much money as possible with this amazing charity.

If you are interested in, or know a business, that would like to have your/their logo on my shorts for the event please get in touch!

Thank you

The Get Busy Living Centre provides expert physiotherapy, specialist personal training, support, mentoring and advice to people suffering a life-changing injury through sport. It's a unique facility which opened its doors in 2018 and is the brainchild of founder and former England and Leicester Tigers rugby player Matt Hampson, who himself experienced a life-changing injury in 2005 leaving him paralysed from the neck down, aged just 20.

Building a sense of community is central to the Matt Hampson Foundation. In the aftermath of an incident which leads to a life-changing injury most people and their families feel isolated with an overwhelming sense of loss for what has been taken away from them.
