Trent College and The Elms have a longstanding partnership with two schools in Kenya. 30 miles from Nairobi lies the village of Thika, and our two partner schools, Gowan Mount View Academy and Nyacaba Primary School.

We believe that everyone has a right to education, but unfortunately there are still many children who do not get full access to one. The aim of our partnership is to support these two Kenyan schools that are less fortunate than ours, and to raise funds for necessities such as desks and chairs. More ambitious projects such as building a kitchen and classrooms, improving the outdoor environment and providing computers have also been undertaken.

Every two years a group of staff and students have the opportunity to visit the school to further cement the partnership. This year, the team are heading to Kenya in July, and we are currently raising funds to support these two schools through a wide range of school-led activities
